SOIL.
The precipice to healing. We can undoubtedly regenerate our soils across the planet, starting in our own backyards, or we can continue to degrade them so that our species is in peril into future. It is a choice.
Hocking Hills, OH. This forest doesn’t rely on man-made fertilizers and pesticides. It manages to thrive while being protected from synthetic additives, even despite heavy human traffic and disturbances.
Where Life Begins.
Did you know that entire ecosystems exist within the surface of the earth? These have been around since long before humans, and have provided a structural foundation for the life of all species that have ever existed. This includes the ocean floor, but the focus of this site, for now, is about soil on land.
We are given life from the functions of the Earth. At this point in time, we cannot exist without resources from the planet. We have always taken from what Mother Earth has provided, but it seems like some humans think that there is no end to this receiving; that we can continuously extract, and all will remain well for us. Even despite the changes we can witness within one lifetime, people act as though there will be no consequences to our species, no matter what we take. But in my scope, this is far from the truth.
Earth provides life to millions of different species, not just humans. I’m not sure where our self-righteousness began, but it is my belief that we are all connected, and everything affects everything else to some degree. This is why the suffering and destruction of wildlife, as some humans seek and continue to destroy much of it, should be a concern to us all. Just as she gives us life, Mother Earth can strip it from us, too. We are not more powerful than her.
But to be honest, I am not worried about the planet, theoretically. All of the harm we are causing, with our synthetic chemical usage, deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, deep mining and boring, plastic pollution, etc., the Earth will outlive us. The problems we are causing negatively affect our existence here, as well as the other species we cohabitate with. Many people don’t care about other life forms… I do, but it baffles me everyday that many of us are so disillusioned to the harms we cause to ourselves and our own families all of the time.
As an example, most people are now aware that Roundup causes cancer and other health problems, but they really just hate looking at those green weeds, wildly spreading about their yard. So they’d rather kill them with a poison and watch them turn brown and then fade away, than put in a little labor to get rid of them by hand. In reality, they would rather expose themselves and their children & pets to chronic and potentially fatal illness, pollute their own and neighboring waterways, and diminish biological diversity. Because of an inconvenience! And the funny thing is, you can never get rid of all the weeds. They will adapt and evolve, no matter how many ways we try to kill them. And in the meantime, we will pay the price, because something that kills life in the soil also kills life within us, as we are all part of the larger ecosystem of Earth itself.
THE BODY:
Your portal to existence.
It is the only thing you have your entire life that can never leave you. Essentially, you are stuck with it. So it would be in your best interest to treat it as sacred; to have a solid connection to it; to stop poisoning it; to love it and cherish it!
We all need to take ownership of our vessels and be more conscious of what we put into our bodies, the activities that we endure, and how we speak to ourselves. Your body is involved, no matter what you do. In our society, I see such a painful disconnection that so many seem to have with themselves, and I have found so many more ways to enjoy life since I chose to get in touch with this suit that I am wearing, and peering into the depths of my brain. We must work with our bodies rather than against ourselves in order to achieve all the things that we want!
Madness
The world is in a tailspin, and it’s hard to keep up with it all, which is actually part of the plan! The powers that be are always looking to create or take advantage of situations to distract us from their mischief and corruption. My goal is to observe and document and analyze the events and ideologies taking place over time, to have a better understanding of patterns and reactions, and stay out of the recurring traps of consumerism.
Everything being presented in the media has some sort of spin on it in order to elicit emotional reactions from us. There is always more than one side to any story, yet the news frames their pieces as absolute, resulting in confusion, upheaval, and bandwagons. JUST WHAT THEY WANT: chaos amongst the people!
Media has always used psychological manipulation to sell products for their funders, and has only gotten more engrained in our lives over time. Edward Bernays, nephew of Freud, introduced propaganda on the mass scale to American leaders and beyond, and the vast spread of information from news outlets and the internet has caused more people to fall into ignorant bias than critical thought.
Pharmaceuticals may certainly help with acute problems, but we are not designed to need them in order to be healthy. Humans have existed, survived, and thrived, much longer than the pharma laboratories have been meddling in our health. And these companies have a vast history of lying to and harming humans, so why would we all of a sudden be expected to trust them?
Hypocrisy is all around us. For example, if people are so scared of themselves or others dying of a low-fatality infection, then why do so many still drive like careless assholes? Specifically in 2020, during the pandemic, car crash fatalities rose 7% or more across the country, while so many fewer people were out on the roads because of lockdowns and working from home. Do careless drivers truly not care about others’ lives, or are they simply unconscious? Either way, they are incredibly dangerous, and we don’t discuss this area of avoidable death in our society anywhere close to adequately.
The government’s job is to protect our rights, not determine them.
Spiraling Nonsense
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic opened my eyes even wider to just how corrupt our leaders are, and how vulnerable our population is. Our addiction to consumerism has exacerbated our inability to think critically about what is being put before us. We want more and more and more, and they tell us we need the next, newest, best things. They bombard us with so much in order to distract us from what they are doing to reap and grow their control over us all. It’s been this spiral for all of human civilization. The elite want to control the masses, and we allow them to by believing them and giving in to their demands. Humans have always done this. But now that we can see the corruption all across the globe, we have the best opportunity to change the structures of our societies. Otherwise it will remain a spiral of nonsensical abuse by the powerful.
To Remain Optimistic…
For everything horrible that is happening, there is a silver lining, and that is what we need to be taking advantage of. I believe that it is only empowering to have the knowledge and information that is now available. We can see what they are doing, despite their attempts to hide it and silence us. There will always be more of us than them, and there is no reason to continue submitting to their greed.
